Pe drumul Braşov - Sighişoara, prima comună mai importantă este Feldioara - nume cu rezonanţă istorică. Cine spune Feldioara spune Petru Rareş şi lupta din 1529. În acel moment Moldova se afla la apogeul puterii sale (va urma rapid coborâşul, pentru că Ştefan cel Mare nu a avut urmaşi la fel de vrednici ca şi el).
Merită să vizitaţi biserica fortificată şi cetatea, aflată chiar în apropiere. Din păcate cetatea nu prea este îngrijită în prezent, iarba nu a mai văzut demult tăişul coasei, dar vechile ziduri sunt acolo să ne amintească faptul că este un loc cu istorie. Cândva la Feldioara exista şi o cetate a cavalerilor teutoni, instalaţi pentru scurtă vreme.
Feldioara Peasant Fortress
Feldioara is found on the road from Braşov to Sighişoara. It is invariably linked to the victory of Prince Petru Rareş (1527-1538 and 1541-1546), Voievode of Moldova. At the time Moldova was at the height of its power, after it was consolidated as a state by Stephen the Great (1457-1504). The fall would be swift, however, for the great voievode did not have as worthy descendants as he was and his children only capitalized on the powerful state he had already established.
You can visit the Saxon Fortified Church and the fortress. Unfortunately the latter is not well maintained and but a few walls still stand. However, the village is known for having once been a stronghold of the Teutonic Knights who settled the area for a short time.
