Mânăstirea Cosăuți

Am vizitat Mânăstirea Cosăuţi pe o zi foarte mohorâtă de iulie (da, era iulie, nu noiembrie), pe timpul Caravanei "Trai mai bun" spre Soroca. Deşi timpul era foarte urât, pentru mine ziua  fost deosebit de frumoasă.

I visited the Cosăuţi Monastery on a very overcast July day. It looked like a sad November day, but for me it was a very beautiful day, during the "Better Living" Caravan to Soroca.  

Mânăstirea Cosăuţi e cuibărită într-o meandră a Nistrului, la nord de cetatea Soroca. Locul este deosebit de pitoresc, între dealuri şi păduri, lângă un iaz. Nu departe este un izvor, a cărui "apă este neînsetată, lacrima pământului natal". Nu e de mirare că s-a înălţat o mânăstire, însă aceasta e mai nouă decât pare: anii 1990.

The Cosăuţi Monastery is nested in a meandre of the Dniestr River, north of the Soroca citadel. It is a beautiful place, with forrested hills and a lake. Close by is a spring "with flowing water, the tears of the homeland". It is not surprising that a monastery was built here, but it may be surprising that it is quite new: the 1990s.

Totuşi, pe locul actualei mânăstiri a existat acum câteva secole o alta, mai modestă, apoi doar un paraclis ruinat.

However, there has been an older monastery in the same place, which got ruined in time.

Interiorul bisericuţei e simpluţ.

The interior is decorated quite simply.

Iazul de lângă nu arăta prea primitor pe vremea mohorâtă.

The lake did not look to good on such a dull day.

Apa se revărsa de peste tot, învolburată, după mai multe zile de ploaie.Cu toate acestea, lângă era un covor de flori.

Also, the water flowing in the channel was very muddy, after days of rain. However, right next to it there was a multitude of flowers.

Chiar dacă modestă şi recentă, Mânăstirea Cosăuţi nu este de ocolit. Este un loc frumos ce completează suita de mânăstiri româneşti nistrene.

Although it is recent and quite modest, the Cosăuţi Monastery is a beautiful place to visit. It completes the row of Romanian monasteries on the Dniestr.
