La Agnita am ajuns într-o zi de duminică, după prânz. Era căldură şi soarele bătea dinspre direcţia cea mai bună pentru fotografiat biserica (de pe pod). Ghinion suplimentar: nu a fost cu putinţă să găsim persoana cu cheia, nici preotul, nici ajutorul său.
În zilele noastre biserica nu mai arată a fi prea fortificată. Oraşul dezvoltându-se, s-a renunţat probabil la ziduri, nu însă şi la turnuri. Numărul şi mărimea lor sunt mărturia bogăţiei breslelor care le-au creat. Din nefericire, nu am putut intra...de data asta, dar după părerea mea merită văzută şi de afară. Silueta ei este specială, iar locuitorii par să îşi fi dat seama de acest lucru, de vreme ce la intrarea în oraş este afişată cu mândrie.
Agnita fortified church
I arrived in Agnita in a Sunday afternoon, after mass. It was hot and the sun was shining from the best direction to take picture (I was on the pedestrian bridge). Another stroke of bad luck: the priest was out of town, so no key to visit the fortified church. It doesn't look so fortified now... probably the inhabitants tore down some of the walls when they were no longer needed. Luckily, they kept the towers. Their numbers and size are a terstimonial to the weath of the guilds that built them. However, even from the outside, Agnita fortified church is impressive, it is the town's symbol and it is proudly displayed at it's entrances.
