Biserica reformată Turda Veche

Să vorbim despre bisericile istorice din Turda! Sunt cel puţin trei care trebuie văzute! Sunt biserica reformată Turda Veche, biserica catolică din Piaţa Republicii şi catedrala ortodoxă construită în perioada interbelică.

Cea mai vizibilă este cu siguranţă biserica reformată, a cărei turn domină centrul vechi. Turnul clasic, tipic ardelenesc (cu 4 turnuleţe în colţuri, tip întâlnit şi în alte zone cu germani sau influenţă germană ca Alsacia sau Pădurea Neagră), este mai nou decât pare, fiind reconstruit în 1906.

Ghidul ne-a povestit că biserica a avut multe peripeţii, inclusiv din cauza disputelor religioase între catolici şi protestanţi în periada Renaşterii. Mai multe secole a fost înconjurată de ziduri, astăzi nu le mai are şi de asemenea dimensiunea ei este redusă. Intrarea principală este obturată şi amplasamentul turnului a fost schimbat. Toate acestea nu i-au ştirbit frumuseţea.

The Reformed Church Turda Veche

Let´s talk about the historic churches of Turda! There are at least three of them which you must see! There is the Reformed Church Turda Veche, the Catholic Church in Republic Square and the Orthodox Cathedral built between the wars.

The most visible is certainly the Reformed Church, with its tower dominating the old city. The classic tower, typical for Transylvania, but also resembling bell towers with 5 spires in Alsace or the Wurtemberg region, is newer than you think: 1906.

The guide told us the history of the church, its tribulations in the religious conflicts of the Rennaissance. Several centuries it was fortified, then its size was reduced, the tower rebuilt in a different place, the main entrace walled up. All this has not altered its beauty.
