Băile Olănești

Am fost de două ori la Băile Olănești, de fiecare dată fiind întâmpinat de vreme răcoroasă în plină vară.

I visited twice Băile Olănești, each time being greeted with cool weather in the middle of summer.

Stațiunea, apărută la finele secolului 19 pe surse termale mai demult cunoscute (pe moșia boierului Olănescu, de unde numele). Vile și pavilioane s-au înălțat, din păcate multe au un aspect cam precar azi, dacă nu sunt chiar părăsite.

The resort was created at the end of the 19th century on springs that were known previously (on the lands of the nobleman Olănescu, who gave the name). Villas and spas were built but many now lie in ruins.

Casele țărănești de pe loc se întrepătrund cu clădirile de tip balnear. Localitatea, Olănești, este mult mai veche, fiind atestată documentar pentru prima dată în 1527 într-un hrisov al lui Radu de la Afumați.

There are also old peasant houses among the resort's villas. The town Olănești is older than the resort: it was first mentioned in a document from prince Radu the Brave in 1527.

La Hotel Stogu am mâncat, e bun. Nu îl puteți rata cu arhitectura peste pârâul Olănești. Culorile îmi plac mai puțin.

You can eat well at the restaurant of Hotel Stogu. I really like the way it crosses the Olănești river. I like less its colors.

La Olănești se află o superbă bisericuță de lemn, de mare valoare istorică despre vare voi povești mai pe larg în postarea următoare: bisericuța lui Horea, din Albac.
